This weekend I'll be attending the World Horror Convention in Austin, Texas. Don't say you're going to a horror convention and mumble, otherwise people get the wrong idea.
Anyway, I've been placed on my first panel, the "New Blood" panel, with my friend John Rector. I have no idea what they'll ask, or what silly things that will come out of my mouth, but I've resolved to be cool, meek, and try not to say too many damnable things, even at night, when I'm in my cups.
So, if you're attending the WHC, search me out, say hello, and tell me how excited you are that Southern Gods is coming out in August. And how you've already ordered it on Amazon. Seriously. Even if you haven't. It'll make me happy and like you more and all you have to do is say one thing and make another person happy? How easy is that?
Look forward to seeing you there.

See you there. And I promise to ask all kinds of stupid questions during your panel.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your first panel.
ReplyDeleteErik - I promise to say all kinds of stupid things in answer.
ReplyDeleteDavid - thanks, man. I'm nervous but looking forward to it.
Looking forward to meeting you and checking out your panel; SOUTHERN GODS looks spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI'm from L.R., so you'll know me by the secret handshake.
Look forward to meeting you Ed! Should be a good time!
ReplyDeleteIf I had known about WHC before I knew about Bouchercon and if I had known who you were when I first found out about WHC, I clearly would have been coming to Austin to see you. You're my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time and I have no doubt the panel will be perfect with you on it! Oh, and I've pre-ordered Southern Gods and I plan to read it despite your warnings of it being a HORROR novel...
Sabrina, you can't fool me - you tell everyone they are your favorite. Dan, Chuck, Steve, et al.
ReplyDeleteBut thank you, anyway. I think you'll have a great time at Bouchercon. I'm not attending it because it not really on my writing career track and with a horror release coming up in a few months, I have to be careful where I spend my marketing dollars, especially in regards to travel.
But hopefully I'll see you there next year!
