I really need to write a round up about World Horror Convention. Everyone was excited about my forthcoming release from Night Shade Books. Got lots of great feedback from many industry professionals on the ARC and everyone was impressed and delighted with the work the kind folks at NSB have done for Southern Gods. I'm really excited to get that one out into the wilds of book buyer-dom and can't be more pleased with the home my first novel has found. I've been a little crazy and manic about its release and they have treated me with the utmost respect and aplomb when I probably didn't deserve it. Many thanks, guys.
In other news, while drinking at the bar with a bunch of great writers, I received a text message from my agent that Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, had acquired my second novel, This Dark Earth. I don't remember much of what happened after that.
There was a dwarf, a bunch of college girls, drinking with Peter Straub and the illustrious Weston Ochse and Brian Keene and many other fine writers already published and soon to be.
I will recap soon. But right now, I gotta get to work on the dayjob. No rest for the weary.
That is all.
Where are my Kindle millions?

That's the best news a man can get while sitting at a bar at a writers conference surrounded by other writers with the promise of a good drunk already laid out before him. Congrats! (again)
ReplyDeleteLike I said at the con, they're the ones that hit the jackpot. And I can't imagine a better place to get that sort of news, either.
