Be Cool

Over at The Night Bazaar, I blather on about meeting literary idols, the innate, recluse nature of writers. I talk about saying stupid things to people while I say stupid things to people, if you catch my meaning, what?

Right-ho. Just pop over there and be the first chappie (or chappette) to comment and you'll receive as a prize my eternal gratitude. What could be more rare, more sought after? Gratitude.

It's what's for dinner.

Oops. Posted this before the other blog post goes live. Dag-nabbit. 7:30am CST. So, while you're waiting, go ahead and pre-order your very own copy of Southern Gods, with 52% more implied tentacles.

World Horror Convention 2011 - Austin TX

This weekend I'll be attending the World Horror Convention in Austin, Texas. Don't say you're going to a horror convention and mumble, otherwise people get the wrong idea.

Anyway, I've been placed on my first panel, the "New Blood" panel, with my friend John Rector. I have no idea what they'll ask, or what silly things that will come out of my mouth, but I've resolved to be cool, meek, and try not to say too many damnable things, even at night, when I'm in my cups.

So, if you're attending the WHC, search me out, say hello, and tell me how excited you are that Southern Gods is coming out in August. And how you've already ordered it on Amazon. Seriously. Even if you haven't. It'll make me happy and like you more and all you have to do is say one thing and make another person happy? How easy is that?

Look forward to seeing you there.

Two Items of Note

The first item is I've placed a new banner ad on the blog to the right. It's for me. Click it and pre-order yerself a copy of my novel, Southern Gods.

Second, for some reason, Amazon has marked down Southern Gods from $14.99 to $10.99. So snatch that sucker up at the reduced price, right? Just click the banner ad and it will take you to the appropriate page. That's how the internet works, see?

Feel (pffft!) free to comment on the banner ad, tell me how awesome and/or crappy it is.

My thanks.

That is all.

The Conservation of Energy

I have committed bloggery over at the Night Bazaar. Again.

In this week's episode, I deal with creative energy, conserving it, and what a crappy industry advertising truly is.

Go. Enjoy.

Comment. I loves the comments. I will comment back at you. It'll be like tennis but without the yellow furry balls, unless you're male and jaundiced.

The Book of Cthulhu

I'm very excited to announce that my story, "The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife", has been accepted for inclusion in Night Shade Books forthcoming September release The Book of Cthulhu. The table of contents hasn't been announced yet, but my story is all up in that biznatch.

That, coupled with Southern Gods, will be my last hurrah in regards to Lovecraft, or Chambers.

Acceptances feel good, people. They remind you why you're in this damned game.

If you're curious regarding the title, let me Google that for you.

House of Blood

New cover I did for the inimitable Bryan Smith. Just FYI, looks like a Kindle release of his first novel will be coming soon. More info here when I know it.

Didn't try to get all fancy on this one. I kinda wish I dealt with the colors of the halftone screaming woman a little better and muted the text colors some. I will play with them when I have a chance.

I am pleased with the slightly retro look, though.

K.I.S.S. on this one.
